The statue was unveiled and given to the City of Baltimore on October 22, 2011. Among those speaking at the ceremony were Governor Martin O'Malley, Senator Barbara Mikulski, Jeff Idelson, the President of the Baseball Hall of Fame, Emmy-nominated Baltimore actor Josh Charles, Principal Sponsor Henry A.
